“Cybermen can survive more efficiently than animal organisms. That is why we will rule the galaxy.”
The time ring from ‘Genesis of the Daleks’ takes the Doctor and his companions back to Space Station Nerva, to a period many thousands of years earlier than their previous visit. The station is currently acting as a beacon warning space traffic of the existence of a new asteroid orbiting Jupiter. This asteroid is what was left of planet Voga, a planet with an extremely high gold content and thought to be destroyed by the Cybermen.
The Cybermen are a race of cyborgs who are among the most persistent enemies of the Doctor. Originally a wholly organic species of humanoids originating on Earth’s twin planet Mondas, they began to implant more and more artificial parts into their bodies as a means of self-preservation. This led to the race becoming coldly logical and calculating, with every emotion deleted from their minds.

The Cybermen from Doctor Who are one of the most iconic monsters from the series, alongside the Daleks however this Limited Edition figurine of only just 750 worldwide will please any collector.
Just like the Weeping Angel, the Cyberman figure by its very nature consists mainly of one colour, yet the figurine has been textured well with shading on key areas to break up the statue and give it more depth and interest. Many of Cybermen figures and figurines in the past have been produced with a smooth effect which sometime can cheapen the figure however Robert Harrop have voted against this by sculpting the figurine to give the feeling that the suits are made out of a crinkled metallic foil. The silver used has a slight matt finish which added to the overall quality of the figurine.
Taken from Fourth Doctor’s only adventure to feature the Cybermen, The ‘Revenge of the Cybermen’ figurine is a similar design to those featured in ‘The Invasion’ with the Second Doctor. The figure featured detailed hosing pipes on the arms and legs and back. The ribbed arms and leg panels, along with its belt shows how much care has been taken with sculpting, however it is only until you look at the control panel you really can see how much time has been spent referring to reference materials as it has been sculpted nearly 100% accuracy to the screen version.
As with all Robert Harrop Doctor Who figurines, the figure is packed in a sturdy cardboard box with polystyrene insert to protect it during transit. Each is stickered with an individually numbered with a foiled silver sticker on the front and comes complete with a numbered certificate of authenticity and name card within the box.
Personally, I believe this is one of the most impressive figurines in the range and look forward to seeing even more versions of the Cybermen from Robert Harrop in the future!
